Stella McCartney Fall 2012

Stella McCartney’s latest collection is just perfect, I’ll be the first one to admit that once upon a time I overlooked her as a designer-forgive me Stella, I was wrong.

There were bright snippets of colour amongst a wash of greys and browns, just enough for autumn weather, cheery but not out of place for the colder months. Pieces were well tailored and structured in heavy knits and tweeds pushing the collection into a very smart, slightly androgynous state with wide leg trousers and shirts tucked in showing the models waists.

Print was used lightly, most affectively covered up and peaking through oversized coats and blazers, it was an accent rather than a statement. Whilst towards the end of the collection tighter fitted tops gave the impression of inspiration from surfer wetsuits, with the use of high necks and colour combinations.

Models wore blue mascara whilst the rest of the makeup was kept plain with hair swept back into a clean simple bun. The makeup mirrored the collection perfectly, basic with a punch of colour to keep the look fresh.
